After College What Next?

Hello readers,

Hope you all are doing great.

Success is not the key to happiness.Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.
-Albert Schweitzer

In every individual’s life, the most cherished moments would be the days spent in schools and colleges. Isn’t this true? This realization would happen only during the culmination days of the college life. Life is easy during the college days with minimal responsibilities. But life moves on and  it will be not the same.

Why a particular field?

This is the first question that needs to be asked. What drives an individual to choose a particular field? According to us there are three kinds of different individual mind-sets which make him/her to choose a particular field.

First category: in this category students would have predetermined their goals. They would have chosen a particular field based on their willingness, interest and capability.

Second category: students who fall under this category are half minded, they will not have clear goals set. They follow a herd mentality, by following someone without any purpose.Without proper direction which will make them land in a miserable situation. So there has to someone who guides these students to a correct path.

And the third categories of students are those who will always be under pressure, even if they know that they are good at a particular field, they will not be in a position to take decisions. The family members are at the faulty side where they decide what the individuals have to do. And eventually pushes the student to some field where he/she will have zero aptitude in that field. For example a student who is extremely good in arts will be forcefully pushed into the engineering field. How can you expect him/her to deliver good results?

The post degree phase.

So now we are in phase where the students have completed their graduation and is now called a graduate, so as the path of his career decided by him earlier he would go ahead and look out for an employment.

The job.

We are sure among our readers many are working, and we all know what a job is, but still let’s just have a refresher about this concept. If we just Google the meaning of job we get this answer “Job is a paid position of regular employment “.

Yes definitely we need to money to survive in this society and hence we take up jobs, these are all the basic amenities to service in a civilized society. Let’s take a deeper dive today and understand about jobs and career and how we are trying to correlate it with our title “after college what next”?

The positive part of this era is there are countless opportunities in life to choose, what to become in life ,what you take up as a profession we must definitely acknowledge as the big maturity leap we all have completed ,but still there are some negatives in this ,to start with ,the first one would too many options to choose and ,your lost to take which road to take?!,

Many attractive options which lead to confusion, the lack of proper guidance from the person’s parent or teachers and also there is no judging capacity by the job seeker himself. So all these end you up in a situation where you always keep wondering that life would have been better, maybe I chose   wrong lane, repentance!

The perfect Job.

Moving lets discuss this, we have heard this term when we go to headhunter or the Human resource of a company you liked to work to say, that I feel this would be the perfect job for you.

Now let’s think for a while, do we agree with our self that there is something called as perfect job we feel the answer in no, no job is perfect, we need to make it perfect by taking it seriously and for that job that to be perfect we must first like what we are doing .So the concept of perfect job is totally a responsibility owned by you ,who should make that job perfect..

The Mind-set.

We decided to write this blog because we are seeing major concerns in India that need to be addressed.

The students who want to seriously become that someone in their life are not able to become to various pressures and also shortcomings in them as well.

We have listed some of the reasons which we feel has to be addressed.

The first one would be ,the knowledge factor-The students of this generation's lack the deeper knowledge that is required ,if you ask us why do they lack it ,there are many reasons ,the intention to study and understand the subject is now considered as almost a waste of time ,and this policy of study one day before the assessment has become famous! And also the we forget to give the respect to knowledge and treat it as degree which can be traded to a hefty salary and a enjoyable work life! What a disaster.

The home factor.

We all agree in the Indian middle class or let’s say for the parents ,who can afford decent schools ,have their own approaches towards guiding their kids ,though many of them are right ,others fail to do so in a right way ,the kids are often pushed upon and forced to take up careers similarities to the profession they have taken up! And the Child’s desire is not even asked that is a very unfortunate.

We have to move on and keep the future generation motivated that whatever path of education and career they want to choose it has to respect and they should be allowed to grow, and the youth also have to attain a level of maturity and understand what they want to do in life.

We would like to conclude by saying, after college what next is a simple question, the simple answer for this equation lies within and take wise decisions by first understanding what we want to become life, by choosing the correct goal and the action plan to achieve it.

Thanks a lot for your time, have a nice day ahead.

Roads in India.

Hello readers,

Hope you all are doing great.

Work hard ,work harder ,work with efficiency ,work in cooperative spirit, work with a team spirit to make your country great ,self sufficient and strong.
Sir.M .Vishveshvaraya.

India is said to be one of the fastest growing countries in the world. India has done well and has enriched in areas such as education, industrialization, tourism and fashion but there are some really major alarms which need a deep introspection. one of the major alarms that we would like to put across to you are the bad roads in India.

Good conditioned roads are the main attributions for a countries infrastructural growth. You need people and goods to be transported fast from one place to another in a safe way. More than 60% of the roads in India have taken up a bad shape it includes highways and roads in urban and village areas.

This problem is not new to India it is prevailing from decades. This shows that the problem hasn’t been addressed in totality. There are numerous potholes on the roads which has a very big impact on the transportation.

A pothole invariably cause damages for the vehicles and slows the minimum speed limit.  And the congested roads which grounds traffic problems, it will  be difficult for the commuters  to drive in such roads.

This problem is still there at the grass root level. The politicians and the authorities, who are responsible for resolving this issue, only give false promises and eye washer actions.

For every action there has be a proper plan ,and the implementation has be done in the right way and there must also be proper controlling measures to rectify the problems.

If these steps are not followed properly then there will be all sorts of catastrophes. This is what is happening to Indian roads, wherein there is brief planning and poor implementation.

The roads which are constructed will be in a good shape initially, but when time fades away the roads start to take a bad form. Here comes the question of quality of the roads. When huge amounts of money which are sanctioned for this purpose hasn’t been utilized properly. This is an open truth.

Ok let’s take this situation ,It’s been 68 years since India got independence ,since then there is no doubt  about the advancement in various fields in the  country and ,we have always moved towards modernisation ,but still when we just think about India ,her roads and the transport in this great land ,we always get pale images of bad roads and poor infrastructure .

That is actually seriously sad, just think we are one of the biggest economies in the world, and in the recent years we have also become one of the major centres of import and export and also have become a hub for foreign exchange after some, good steps and relaxation of the LPG policy in 1991.

Even after all these milestones achieved, how can we still be commuting in the same old ,roads built by the British or the kings, how long  can the government stay numb? Irrespective of which government comes to power, we do agree there was some progress ,when each Government came to power ,but the rate of progress is way too slow.

Standardization is very much required in building roads, which helps in reducing traffic congestion, if we think strategically it’s actually not a tough rock to break, analysing an area, laying down good roads and maintaining them , is actually the bird eye view of a road development project.

We agree building a road is not at all a easy job, it requires smart engineers and it involves high expenditure, hence proper survey needs to be conducted before starting a project.

The issue of potholes is an urgent concern, we seen many sad and unfortunate accidents and trauma due to this.

If we just do a root –cause analysis of the issue, we have some major concerns like, poor material to build roads, irregularly maintained or no maintenance, untimely road cuttings for various reasons like water supply pipeline installation, sewage problems, and installation of fibre optic cables and so on.

If you just complete laying a good road, and just drill into it the following day, there is no pint of tarring a road!

We would also like to talk about ,rainwater management in roads ,which is very poor in India ,we agree that after a threshold volume no drain can manage water ,of course we all know that ,but our drains are not even capable of taking an hour downpour ,we are sure the designers had built these drains for a rainy day!, but due to litter and plastic and other garbage stuffed in the drains ,they are choked and hence ,roads become swimming pools at times!

The solutions.

The public has to raise their voices and question against the bad conditioned roads.

Fed up with apathy, Badal Nanjundaswamy , a Mysore-based artist, thought of giving BBMP a shock therapy . And the result was hard to miss, much like the gaping potholes that are a bane for the city .
On Thursday, Badal, 36, used his creativity to highlight an extra-large pothole that covered half the width of Sultanpalya Main Road. The message was so loud and clear that the authorities swung into action on Friday and filled up the crater.

courtesy :TOI

The first and foremost will be maintaining and standardizing the existing roads rather than venturing into new projects.

Periodic maintenance of roads must be made mandatory.

Taking case studies and successful project ideas from the countries with the best roadways in the world.

Benchmarking our roads with the best roads in the world.

There must definitely be transparency in the movement of funds sanctioned for road construction projects.

The road development projects and the maintenance  should never be dependent on the present political situation of our country, we feel it  should be given an independent status like the army of our nation.

We are happy to see advanced cleaning machines which are used in the early hours of the day, which clean the roads in a professional manner , adequate number of these machines need to brought into action.

We would like to conclude by saying, the solutions are simple ,and clear, and almost every responsible citizen and authority in this nation is aware of it ,but when it comes to  the implementation  part we are nowhere.

We need to change that and fill up the gaps between the broken roads of planning, and implementation, by filling it with essential materials of positive thinking ,better action plans and smooth coordination, and close those potholes of mis coordination for good.

We request our readers to suggest their views  which will help in improving our roads .

Thanks a lot for your time ,have a nice day ahead.

Gratitude.

Hello readers,

Hope you all are doing great.

Some patients recover, because they believe in doctors.

-Aristotle

Well in today's blog we want to talk people who help us the most in our lives in our distress, when we are suffering, and try to bring back that smile on our face.

We want to give a tribute to all the doctors, nurses and the other supporting staff who help in first -aid, hospitalization, trauma management, rehabilitation and treatment.

The moment we are in pain or, we are affected by any diseases the first person who comes in our minds is our own family doctors.

Sometimes just a visit to our doctor’s clinic has brought a sigh of relief in our minds.

So what is fascinating about them, that we feel relieved, we think the service mindedness, selfless attitude and the hope they gave to their patients is the answer.

We request to ask yourself this question how difficult it is to save a life? take responsibility for whatever happens at the end ,because the patient ,is a loved one to you and you have now given him to the care of the doctor ,with full hope that ,you will be united with your loved one ,fit and healthy again.

But think from the other side of the mirror, just imagine the risk the doctor is taking on his own life to save a life, he is pushing his body to a limit. And the supporting staffs who strive hard to save one’s life.

The supporting staff

When an ambulance is struck in a traffic jam, despite of its loud siren and constant honking, people would be reluctant to pave the way for. But in spite of all the odds on the way, they make sure that the patient is safe till the ambulance is reached the hospital.

Isn't it a great skill what the ambulance drivers’ display! As common people, our duty would be to make way on the road for the ambulance. For doing that even you would be contributing to save one’s life.

Even nurses play a very important role in assisting doctors with their requirements; they also help by administering medicines round the clock, when doctors are off duty.

  The student

Another point  to be highlighted is that how difficult is it to become a doctor, of course it’s actually a very difficult task, according to a survey at a global level ,medical students ,show the highest rate of dropouts for many reasons ,and they are also considered as the most stressed people in the world .

If we just look from a productivity aspect, a corporate professional, is expected a productivity of 70%to 80 %, and allowed some leaves throughout the year, well that is not the case for doctors, they are supposed to 100 % productive all the time and they are almost always available for service.

We think we need to grateful to these, divine individuals, who work for the, betterment of the society, who help us lead a happy life, we as individuals though we are happy in life, we are sometime stingy to show gratitude to people.

But when your in pain a doctor doesn't, know how your in life, what are your inner feelings he or she, take care you so well, that you are back on your feet at the earliest, and they don’t except anything from you.

We may all say it is a profession, and they get paid for it, but this profession is one among the risky ones ,just think of the doctors who are treating our brave soldiers ,we feel that is maximum level of service mindedness one can show in this era.

We take time in saluting all the doctors ,and the nurses ,to be precise all the good men and women who work as team in a hospital ,for helping us ,jump over the walls of diseases, escape from webs of viruses ,and we thank them for making us smile again.

Thanks a lot for your team, have a great Sunday.

Education Systems 2.

Hello readers

The secret of education is respecting the pupil.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson.

This image was taken in a temple which is located in a posh locality in Bengaluru. First of all this is something which is very unfortunate. From this picture one can understand what the real meaning of the word “VALUE” is, and this is what you get to see in many of the places in India. Why are people acting blind when they can see how small kids are struggling to learn? Why can’t something be done to these kids and many more who are hungry for education?

They are the future who would lead this country. The Government and the private organizations should join hands and must work for the betterment of the poor.

There should also be the congress of youngsters like us and many more who are willing to help and make this education system a better one.

Hope you guys are doing fine. Well in the month of March we had written a blog covering the education systems around the world and also India, we would like to continue on this topic today.

So in our initial blog regarding this topic we spoke about ,some famous education models around the world ,and then we looked at the Indian model ,identified some concerns ,and suggested some solutions too, and we would like to thank all the people who took time out of their busy schedule to read our blog and also commented their views.

Moving on ,If we just start at where we left last time ,The Government needs to take cognitive steps to solve this critical problem of India ,just think we are in the 21st century and ,we are still trying to climb up a weak and trembling ladder to increase our literacy rates come on, is that even fare ?

We are sure if the intellects in the Governments, put their thinking caps on ,the issue can be solved at the earliest.

So what are some of the prominent issues the students face? In the present education system:

Firstly, the money matter, yes it is definitely a concern. People with money have the privilege to attend great schools but the ones who are no so rich, well we know what happens to them.

The solution is already there, yes of course we are talking about the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, which is a great scheme announced by the government, but the only issue is how much of this plan is applied and followed?

So the issue actually is that we have great intellects in the system, which have great plans to make this a grand success story but we fail at the implementation part.

If we look at the private educational institutions they haunt the parents using the word donation. No doubt that the private institutions too need money, as they are not running a charity. But how many of them can really afford is the big question. The rich definitely be able to afford huge amounts without any tussle, but the poor definitely can’t. The private institutions  .

If we  look at an action plan for the next 5 years we can start by adopting the “graduation” model of the US a mentioned in our 1st part .

To conclude nothing is impossible if we have the mind to change the situation and make the best out of the worst situation. We feel we are on the right track till we reach the station of implementation after which the trains of implementation are getting derailed!

If you have missed our first part here it is:
