Hello readers

Hope you are  doing great.

Everybody's  a filmmaker today.
-John Milius

today we wanted to talk about a cheer full topic which everyone would like to read, and the coincidence is that it is a weekend, and it’s a time for leisure and enjoyment, we all prefer to watch a movie right?

Well the topic of discussion today is about the movies, how they came into existence, the knowledge that is required to produce a movie, the techniques involved some insights on famous personalities in this field, the recent trends.

So let’s begin this short journey into  the land of Cinema.

What is a movie?

Filmmaking (or in an academic context, film production) is the process of making a film. Filmmaking involves a number of discrete stages including an initial story, idea, or commission, through scriptwriting, casting, shooting, sound recording and reproduction, editing, and screening the finished product before an audience that may result in a film release and exhibition. Filmmaking takes place in many places around the world in a range of economic, social, and political contexts, and using a variety of technologies and cinematic techniques. Typically, it involves a large number of people, and can take from a few months to several years to complete.

The concept.

The basic concept that is involved in filming is that it is a temporary event management process where many people work together, and finally disperse after the project is complete.

It is actually a herculean task ,and not an easy nut to crack, the key players involved in a movie are ,the director whose brain and idea is what started that project, the producer or we can call him the banker ,who provides funds ,the cameraman who we can call the viewer’s eye for a movie ,to become a grand success.

To be frank the list is endless, we would have seen at the end of movie the credits list is almost endless. But the key people are mentioned above.

The History of Films.

So actually when did the movies  come into existence .Let’s look at some important milestones.

· They  began as early as 1890, when the first motion picture camera was invented, and the first motion picture production companies arose.

The first motion Camera

· The movies were very minute until 1927.

· They were produced without sound!

· The first rotating camera for taking panning shots was built in

  1897.

· The first movie studio was built in 1897.

· Most films of this period were what came to be called "chase films"

· The first use of animation in movies was in 1899. The first feature length multi-reel film was a 1906 Australian production.

· The first successful permanent theatre showing only films was "The Nickelodeon" in Pittsburgh in 1905. By about 1910, actors began to receive screen credit for their roles, and the way to the creation of film stars was opened.

· The 1914 to 20s marked the birth of commercial cinema.

· The first films to consist of more than one shot appeared toward the end of the 19th century, a prominent example was the French film of the life of Jesus Christ. These weren't represented as a continuous film; the separate acts were interspersed with lantern slides, a lecture, and live vocal numbers, to increase the running time of the manifestation to about 90 minutes.

· In 1900, continuity of action across successive shots was definitively established by George Albert Smith and James Williamson, who also worked in Brighton. In that year Smith made As Seen Through a Telescope,

The first Closeup shot.

· The close up shot was first time used in this film by G.A Smith, for which he has called the pioneer of the close up.

· The first use of animation movies started in 1899.

· In 1930s the Metro Goldwyn Mayer Inc. became dominant in producing the animated cartoons which is appreciated till date.

· The first feature length multi-reel film in the world was the 1906 Australian production called The Story of the Kelly Gang.

· It traced the life of the legendary infamous outlaw and bushranger Ned Kelly (1855–1880) and ran for more than an hour with a reel length of approximately 4,000 feet (1,200 m). It was first shown at the Athenaeum Hall in Collins Street, Melbourne, Australia on 26 December 1906 and in the UK in January 1908.

After these milestones were achieved, the film industry, started climbing new heights, with the advancement in techniques used, the equipment’s used thus becoming one of the biggest businesses of the world.

We are always amazed about some noteworthy techniques in movies ,like the VFX (visual effects ) the props used in the movies like Jurassic park ,Godzilla terminator and the back to the future series and also the famous movies like Ethan the recent fictional movies like The advance code ,The matrix series ,Inception are a threat to our eyes .

The astronomical movies like the star wars, Apollo 11, Gravity and interstellar are just mesmerising.

There are many movies in the world which has made a strong impact in the minds of people. And some of them have also changed the lifestyle of many. Great movies are not only entertainers but also have loads of acquirements. It creates an opportunity for oneself to learn a lot from the great movies.

Here are some

Shawshank Redemption is also based on true story based a on a person called Allen Greene a type of movie which is liked by all and which is understood by all. From this movie one can draw parallels to this concept in actual life as well ,also real life based movies like Titanic and are amazing to watch.

We can never forget dedicated actors like Bruce lee and Jackie Chan who have taken martial arts and fight science to a new level.

Indian Cinema industry has also seen pioneers like Dada Saheb Palke who is known to produce the first motion picture in India, great directors like B.R panthalu and Puttana Kanagal had the zeal to bring out new ideas and convert them into a good movies.we have also seen some phenomenal movies like Mr. X (1957) a classic Ashok Kumar starrer. Which displayed the immeasurable fancy of the director Nanabhai Bhatt, Some of the classic movies are Sholay, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge(DDLJ) , Jewel Thief, Indian (Tamil), Om (Kannada). There are plentiful movies which fall under this class.

It is the job of the performers to give life to the characters in the movie. The lists of great actors are in fact endless. We have handpicked a few who are exceptionally notable actors globally. The recent trends.

A lot regionalism has been developed in the Indian Cinema in the recent past. People are becoming language biased. Since a movie is an art, it shall be our passion to appreciate all the good movies.

Recently we watched this Kannada movie titled Rangitaranga which happens to be a very unique movie. One of the best psychological thrillers of all time. It casts a very young team and the direction is astonishing and has taken the art of movie making altogether to a different dimension.

Well this is just a Bird’s eye view about cinema we will back with more .
