Indian Police Force.

Hello readers

Hope you all are doing great.

Being honest never hurts anyone, being a liar only hurts you!

Today we want to talk about our country's most condemned and most talked department. The police department.

In this blog we are not only talking about the IPS cadre but also the department as a whole.

Lets put ourselves in this situation.

Imagine a day with all of the police stations being shut, at the same time  there is a crime that takes place. What would we,as common people think at that moment? Definitely we rush to the police station, but it's been shut. This results in a catastrophe.

So you cannot just even imagine one day ,without the police. Have you ever seen a police station being closed on a festival or any other occasion. The answer is a big no. The police, especially who are working at the lower order of the hierarchy of the department toil day and night to see to it that, the citizens  are given the maximum security.

Any problem in the locality. A policeman would be called. They would have literally sacrificed everything to work for the society. Why are they not given the due respect? The pressure under which they work with is just too hard to digest.

No doubt that it's their duty and responsibility to ensure law and order and protect the interests of the people and fight against the anti-social elements. But at least once, think that they are also human beings with  flesh and bone. Just because their prime duty is maintaining law and order and solving civic problems, it doesn't mean that they don't deserve any respect.

Their working environment is always like a hot pan. Always under pressure and tension. They always have to depend on the politicians for everything. Have to abide by the orders from the higher do called authorities ,or heads  If good and deserving officers were given independent powers with minimal control, the scenario would have been definitely different.

As common people it shall be our duty to cooperate with the police for better governance. A tribute should be paid to each and every policeman.

On the other hand we know that there will be some loopholes and bad elements on all the departments irrespective being an government undertaking or a private undertaking.

We have also heard so many citizens complaining on the bad behaviour of police when they went to lodge a complaint ,the concerns are endless,do we know the reason for their behaviour?we dont ,because we consider them as a force, and shield not as humans ,they have their own pressure ,in this hostile environment and demography of India, and their jobs may not be as motivated as guy who ,gets paid heavily sitting under a cool A.C in a MNC do they have all the like motivational factors like leadership,work-life balance and remuneration in their jobs are they in sync with the current standard of living.

Another essential factor is about the arms and ammunitions provided, especially for the personnel in the lower hierarchy, are they enough to defend themselves and protect the common man?

The questions are endless ,and the answers are actually sad, imagine their personal life, the pressures and nervousness on a police personnel's spouse, parents or children!

So we cannot blame and generalise each time when we see the news ,about criminal activity and ,that the criminals got away ,and say the police are useless.

When we sit in a room with all the curtains closed there will be lot activity outside the curtain, which we wouldn't notice, hence lets open the curtains of our mind and start seeing this world in a matured way and start respecting these protectors of the modern times.

There is an improvement required from both sides lets see to that we will move the dice first and next we should ask the government to do it.

Thanks for your time.

Living with hope

  1. a reasonable way, i do agree. we think we have a right , no responsibility. law is for protecting us all, and the more law abiding we are, lesser is the load on the police force. we as citizens need to participate, but only as volunteers to keep the machinery going. the civil disobedience movement is okay , but why settle for us, make our rulers , the real ones elected by us, more and more accountable for their actions. if the heart is strong and the head is squarely on our shoulders and we do what is expected of us the aberrations in any force including police will be very few.
